Full-Stack Engineer · Payments & Commerce Platforms
I build commerce and payment platforms end-to-end - React and Next.js frontends, NestJS, Laravel, and Go APIs, and the infrastructure they run on. Six years taking real businesses online across Africa and beyond.
Builder, musician, systems thinker.
Engineer by trade, teacher by habit, bassist on Sundays. Happiest where a hard problem meets a real person who needs it solved.
I'm a full-stack engineer who cares equally about what the user sees and what runs underneath it.
My work spans the full delivery chain - React and Next.js frontends, NestJS, Laravel, and Go APIs, PostgreSQL and MySQL data layers, and Docker-based deployments behind Cloudflare and Traefik. I've shipped SaaS platforms, marketplaces, and e-commerce backends with payments across Flutterwave, Paystack, Monnify, Stripe, and PayPal - and I teach backend development to the next generation of engineers.
I believe great engineering is invisible. It should feel natural, load instantly, and handle edge cases without drama. That conviction shapes every technical decision I make - from data model design to animation timing.
Building lending and payment infrastructure for small businesses — Laravel and FastAPI microservices connected by queues and event brokers, React customer surfaces, and the monitoring that keeps it all observable in production. Returned to the company where I started as a junior (then Pennee Technologies).
Sole engineer on a school management SaaS covering nursery, primary, and secondary levels — from database schema to self-hosted deployment pipeline.
Teaching Node.js, Express, REST API design, and database fundamentals to students entering the industry.
Led client delivery end-to-end — scoping requirements, building and hosting WordPress sites, and owning the technical relationship with each client.
Built the full backend for a travel e-commerce platform — dual payment gateways, Microsoft Graph calendar integration, installment payments, and queue-driven booking automation.
Built Node.js and GraphQL backend services for an embeddable feedback widget — the APIs that collected review and usage data from client sites and served it back as product insight.
Built Laravel API endpoints for an asset-financing product lending to small businesses — queue-backed workflows and MySQL behind real money movement.
Early-career role building React frontends and Laravel backends, plus client-facing technical support.
Open source is how I stay honest.
I treat open source as a way to practice engineering in public: clear code, useful defaults, better documentation, and small decisions that other people can inspect, reuse, or challenge.
The philosophy is simple: build things that lower friction for the next person. That might mean a starter API, a deployment pattern, a clearer README, or a tiny fix that saves someone else an hour of guesswork.
The goal is a body of work that proves I can collaborate in the open, explain tradeoffs clearly, and leave projects easier to understand than I found them.
Open to full-time roles, freelance projects, and interesting conversations about hard engineering problems.
